Music for the Planet: Summer Solstice Concert - Saturday, June 21, 2008, 7:30pm
Celebrate the Summer Solstice and welcome summertime at a concert of improvised and original music influenced by world rhythms, folk, classical and jazz. The Music for the Planet ensemble, comprised of participants and graduates of the Connecticut-based Music for People organization, features Pam Carlton, violin; Mark Hinkley, keyboards; Sue Armstrong, silver and cedar flutes; Kani Barrett, cello; and Randy Brody, drums and percussion. Surprise guest artists, audience participation and drum jam. Bring an instrument to play. Tickets available at the door. Concert begins at 7:30pm.
Location: Norfield Grange in Weston, CT. (directions) $15 admission - $10 seniors (65+) and children (under 12)

Drum CirclesCommunity Drum Circles Join us for a great evening of playing hand drums and percussion instruments and dancing to the uplifting rhythms. You don't have to be a trained musician or an experienced drummer - just share a desire to make rhythmic music, relieve stress and have fun in the process. Some instruction at the beginning of each drum circle. Drums provided or bring your own.
Dates: Time: 7:30-9:00pm Location: Norfield Grange in Weston, CT. (directions) Admission: $15.00 adults / $10.00 seniors (65+) and under 12 First Tuesday Community Drum Circles for Seniors This interactive program uses hand drums and percussion to build community, lift spirits and release stress, while participants have fun in the process. The program is facilitated by HealthRHYTHMS graduate, Randy Brody. No experience is necessary!
